100% Carbon Neutrality
As a coffee producer, Café Royal is dedicated to protecting the environment and operates with dedication to counteracting our emissions. Through a thorough analysis of the carbon impact of our production process from cherry to cup, we offset all emissions related to our products, resulting in carbon neutrality.
What do we offset? Our dedication to offsetting our emissions extends to all Café Royal products, from cultivation to disposal by supporting internationally certified climate protection projects. Our efforts have resulted in the offsetting of 49,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions according to independent research from Intep. (https://intep.com/en/)
Our compensation project, in partnership with MyClimate, has been awarded the "Gold Standard" label, which ensures the prevention of CO2 emissions from entering the atmosphere.
100% Fair Trade and Responsible
100% of our coffees are certified by Rainforest Alliance or Fairtrade, ensuring responsible agriculture and fair trade to the consumers.
These labels provide a framework through strict specifications and audits by independent organizations, verifying the implementation of virtuous practices for the farming community, their long-term livelihood, and that of their environment. While over 75% of coffee sold in 2019 was conventional with no sustainability certification, certification supports the three pillars of sustainability: social, economic, and environmental, and promotes sustainable coffee culture.
Certified coffee plantations have higher yields with lower environmental costs, offer better training to workers, and safer working conditions, leading to better quality coffee and benefiting local communities.
Organic Label
The European Union label "Eurofeuille" signifies that a product is not only organic, but also adheres to strict EU regulations on organic farming, including the exclusion of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, GMOs, and the maintenance of soil quality and traceability.
It must be accompanied by a mention specifying the origin of raw materials and the number of the certifying body.
